SoftLanding Systems Joins
the Eclipse Foundation
 Peterborough, N.H. — October 8, 2004 — SoftLanding Systems has been accepted as a full member of the Eclipse Add-In-Provider and Eclipse Membership-At-Large communities. The Eclipse Foundation is a non-profit, member-supported organization formed to advance the creation, evolution, promotion, and support of the Eclipse Platform. It comprises an open source community of software development tool vendors and an ecosystem of complementary products, capabilities, and services.

SoftLanding was the first iSeries software change management vendor to integrate with IBM's Eclipse-based WebSphere® Development Studio client (WDSC) integrated development environment (IDE), as well as the first vendor to earn IBM's "Ready for WebSphere Studio" validation for native iSeries development support in early 2003.
Its TurnOver™ for WebSphere Studio combines complete native iSeries change management support with Web and Java support to create a unified Software Management system for multi-team, multi-platform WebSphere development. In addition to core change management functions, the plug-ins let developers review and manage their task assignments, automatically collect all changed files in preparation for promotion, execute promotion requests, and deploy their changes to production on any combination of iSeries, Windows, Linux, or UNIX servers. Behind the scenes, TurnOver also provides full application archiving, automated recovery from problematic deployments, and auditable change history.
SoftLanding also offers free WDSC plug-in utilities to help make the IDE as easy to use for iSeries development as it is for Java and Web development. The iSeries Messages Plug-in lets developers monitor and work with an iSeries message queue from directly within WDSC. Its Spooled File Plug-in lets developers quickly see job logs and compile listings as a "view" within WDSC.
