The Software Management Experts
JD Edwards World InterfaceTurnOver's flexible change management architecture means that SoftLanding can adapt it quickly to manage a variety of environments and software packages. Whether the source or objects are recognized iSeries or AS/400 types, or are unique to a vendor's package, TurnOver can manage all of your changes efficiently. Oracle's JD Edwards World software is among the most widely used software applications in the world. Many JD Edwards World customers use TurnOver to manage their changes and integrate the new releases they receive from Oracle. Unique to the JD Edwards World application is a repository file, called the Software Version Repository (SVR). This repository is used to control compile-time parameters for iSeries objects. Special Oracle-supplied programs are used to create JD Edwards World objects. These programs perform processing before running the actual iSeries compile commands. Also unique to JD Edwards World are certain data-driven object types such as Data Dictionary items, FAStrs, DREAMWriters, Menus, processing options, user-defined codes, vocabulary overrides, and SVR (Software Version Repository) entries. Within TurnOver, the JD Edwards World Interface defines all of these as "object types" and manages them just as you would other iSeries objects. You can even change DREAMWriters by version. All of the features of TurnOver — from help desk to distribution — are available when managing JD Edwards World applications. Define JD Edwards World ApplicationsYou configure TurnOver by defining application definitions that contain policies and defaults, such as archiving rules and libraries, for each environment. The JD Edwards World Setup WizardThe Wizard walks you through setting up your JD Edwards World applications. It can also be run any time to check your JD Edwards World applications for problems. The Wizard makes setup a breeze. No other installation steps are required. TurnOver's WorklistAll of your changes can be managed from the Programmer Worklist. Because JD Edwards World objects are known to TurnOver, they are treated like any other iSeries object. You have the added flexibility of working from the SVR panel, if you prefer. SVR UpdatesAt each stage of the change cycle, TurnOver updates the SVR to reflect the current status of source and objects within each environment. Access to JD Edwards World Development ToolsTurnOver provides seamless integration between the Worklist and JD Edwards World development tools. Tools such as design aid, JD Edwards World editors, cross-referencing, copy programs and similar options are available from the Worklist as well as from the SVR panel. Fast and Fail-safe PromotionsThe promotion jobs are fast and run automatically. Should the promotion job fail, TurnOver restores the previous state of the production environment, maintaining the full integrity of the production environment at all times. And if you need to, you can undo a change even after the promotion job has completed. Security and Object OwnershipYou tell TurnOver who can work with each application, and what each person can do. TurnOver ensures that only authorized profiles have access to change management functions. And, TurnOver assigns iSeries object security and ownership to all objects whenever they are promoted to another environment. Distribution of JD Edwards World ObjectsTurnOver can distribute all JD Edwards World objects both iSeries objects and data-driven objects to your production computer(s). No special licensing is required except for TurnOver's remote production version on your target computers. SynchronizerSynchronizer is a fully integrated TurnOver subsystem that includes our source compare and merge utilities. It is designed to help you evaluate the impact of a new JD Edwards World release and merge the new release with your local changes. Interface & Application Software SupportYou can use TurnOver's many APIs or built-in interfaces to bridge to any software package, including:
