TurnOver Form Recovery and IBM PTFBy Sandy King, Product Manager When a TurnOver form recovers, TurnOver restores the objects and source that were replaced during the promotion process. The intent is to return your environment to the state it was in before the form ran. Because TurnOver has worked this way for many years, it's not likely to be news to most of you. The real news is that, for those of you running operating system level V5R2 and V5R3, the recovery process has not been working correctly for source members because the IBM CPYSRCF function was not updating the last change date and time when source was copied from one TurnOver level to another. This is an IBM issue (reference IBM APAR SE19615). Because of this error, TurnOver has been incorrectly assuming that the target source was not put in place by the form run that is recovering, and was therefore not restoring the archived source. There are two remedies to this problem, as follows:
Once you've applied the IBM PTF, you can deactivate the TurnOver change. You can find details for doing so in the task on the support site, as well as in the June 2005 Release Notes.
