UNICOM Systems Acquires SoftLanding SystemsMainframe software provider looks to System i market for growth and vitality.FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Mission Hills, CA and Peterborough, NH - October 25, 2006UNICOM Systems, Inc., global leader in CICS system management solutions, today announces the September 28, 2006 acquisition of System i-based change management vendor SoftLanding Systems, Inc. for an undisclosed amount. The purchase represents UNICOM 's expansion into the System i market. UNICOM will work with SoftLanding to develop international markets and further invest in application lifecycle management technology to bring greater efficiency to bear within customers' IT departments. "We see many similarities between the mainframe and midrange markets," says Corry Hong, President and CEO of UNICOM. "We understand the stability and longevity OS/400 will enjoy, and see many opportunities for growth. We were very impressed by SoftLanding's technology, particularly their Eclipse-based work.
