Deploy/400^™

Software vendors that produce periodic releases, or companies that manage software like a software vendor, need to deploy high volumes of changes to a large number of networked or autonomous iSeries systems. With our Deploy/400^™ Application Deployment Tool, you can distribute entire applications, software packages, upgrades, fixes, and even IFS objects efficiently to one or many iSeries.

Deploy/400 is also ideal for environments where it is impractical to maintain a change management system on client computers. Deploy/400's small footprint means it can remain on the client system with minimal overhead.

Deploy/400 builds and distributes packages that contain iSeries objects, libraries, IFS objects and directories, OS/400 PTFs — even other packages you've created — greatly reducing the job of tracking deployment activity. You can specify prerequisites and special conditions to minimize the chance of errors on client systems for true "load and run" simplicity on even complex installations. With its rich suite of command APIs and its open architecture, Deploy/400 can easily handle special processing for data files and OS/400 PTFs.

Deploy/400 works as a stand-alone distribution product or it can integrate with TurnOver. When used with TurnOver, it lets you wrap up hundreds of TurnOver Forms into a single package to distribute. If TurnOver Remote is running, it will install all changes.

Maintain Package Prerequisites
Deploy/400 automatically includes dependent packages in distributions sent to client systems in a networked environment.
Embed Commands
You can embed commands before or after any package item, permitting file conversions or the ability to set object ownership or authority.
Perform Conditional Processing
You can run commands to determine which of several packages to install. For example, you might check what release of a product is installed and apply changes, a release upgrade, or install the entire application if necessary.
Backup and Recovery Support
Deploy/400 supports various backup and recovery options. You can also build your own application-specific recovery solution.
